BWON for Managers Training
Environmental managers who need to deepen their knowledge of Benzene Waste Operations NESHAPs (BWON) will benefit from Sage Environmental Consulting’s “BWON for Managers” course. This course presents to environmental managers key information about evaluating BWON compliance at their facilities, identifying and responding to BWON compliance risks, and planning for emerging BWON issues.
The course covers metrics for benchmarking your facility from a BWON compliance perspective and from a human resources perspective, the impact of managing a BWON “culture,” and the roles of and relationships among operations, environmental, engineering, contractors, and maintenance. The course depicts experiences with BWON enforcement initiatives, identifies common BWON programmatic deficiencies, and provides tools to support program improvement. The presentation concludes by discussing emerging BWON issues, then answers questions from attendees in a roundtable format. Here is a detailed description of what the presentation covers.
Larry G. Darcey, P.E., delivers this training. He is a Client Service Manager in Sage’s Houston office, serving as one of the company’s BWON subject-matter experts. Over the past decade, he has spent close to half his time doing BWON compliance work.
